The Math Skill Set Part 1: Hands-on Math

A complete, structured early mathematics curriculum, developed by child development researchers and aligned to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Kindergarten and NAEYC early childhood mathematics guidelines.

Hands-On Math Part 1 delivers sequential, skill-building lessons across core math domains — counting and number sense, addition and subtraction, geometry and spatial reasoning, measurement, and patterning. Lessons follow a concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) progression, a research-backed instructional method used in leading elementary math programs worldwide.

Counting Cups A tactile counting manipulative that builds number sense and one-to-one correspondence. Students practice counting concrete objects to develop a foundational understanding of cardinality — a core CCSS Kindergarten standard (K.CC)

Number Builder Board A structured decomposition tool that teaches students how numbers can be composed and broken apart. Supports mastery of number bonds and part-whole relationships aligned to CCSS K.OA (Operations and Algebraic Thinking).
Total Up - A hands-on addition and subtraction manipulative in which students physically combine and separate pieces to model equations. Builds conceptual understanding of operations aligned to CCSS K.OA.1–K.OA.2

Count On Activity -A structured counting activity that teaches the “counting on” strategy — a critical bridge between counting and addition. Aligned to CCSS K.OA and first-grade addition readiness standards.

Plus & Minus Missions A repetition-based equations activity in which students solve simple addition and subtraction problems using moveable pieces. Builds fluency and procedural understanding aligned to CCSS K.OA.5.

Number Sense Set A set of card-based math games designed to build number recognition, comparison, and fact familiarity. Supports math fluency development without rote drill, aligned to CCSS K.CC and K.OA standards.

Pattern Maker A patterning and algebraic thinking tool in which students create, copy, and extend patterns. Develops early algebraic reasoning and problem-solving skills foundational to CCSS math progression.

Stack It Up Measurement A comparative measurement activity in which students measure and compare objects by length, width, and height. Directly aligned to CCSS K.MD.1–K.MD.2 (Measurement and Data).

Pack It Up Spatial Reasoning Activity A spatial reasoning activity in which students manipulate and rotate geometric forms to fit within a defined space. Builds geometric thinking and persistence aligned to CCSS K.G (Geometry).

Addition Strategies Book Series A standards-aligned supplemental reader series that introduces counting on, skip-counting, and making tens through narrative context. Supports literacy-math integration and reinforces CCSS K.OA and 1.OA strategies.
