Mechanical Engineering and Gear Systems Learning Kit

Description
This mechanical engineering kit explores gears, communication technology, projection, pendulum motion, and mechanical systems through three functional models. Students assemble and examine mechanisms to understand how separate parts work together to perform a task.

Children can build the projector and pendulum clock, inspect the movement of gears and linked parts, and use the walkie talkies to discuss signal based communication. Parents can ask students to trace the path of motion or information through each system, identify input and output, and compare the functions of the different devices.

Children learn to view engineered products as systems made of connected components. They practice assembling mechanisms, tracing cause and effect, and explaining how motion or information is transferred to produce a result.
