Description
This magnet science workshop is designed for direct investigation of magnetic attraction, repulsion, material response, and magnetic force. Students use several types of magnets to test predictions and construct simple magnetic structures.
Parents can provide a collection of classroom objects for testing with the wands and handheld magnets, have students predict which materials will respond, and record outcomes in a chart. The magnetic cubes and force balls can demonstrate poles, attraction, repulsion, and noncontact force through controlled experiments.
Children learn that magnetism has predictable effects that can be tested experimentally. They practice making a hypothesis, gathering evidence, classifying materials, and explaining results using basic physical science vocabulary.
